Course Overview

Organisational Context provides Business Analysts with a high level view of different types of business; the view that may be seen from the CEO/Board of Directors perspective. For an ambitious Business Analyst who wishes to aim to be a Business Change Manager, then this course is ideal.

The course examines how businesses may be structured and how different management approaches can be employed to effectively manage those structures. Key isues such as the consequences of going for a growth strategy, removing inefficient working practices or dealing with difficult employees are answered. Areas such as Financial and Management Accounting, Investment Appraisal, Budgeting and Legal issues are also covered.

Successful completion of this course will help you speak to the Board in terms that they understand!

Holders of the ISEB Certificate in Organisational Context should be able to:

• Describe different types of business organisations in the UK.
• Describe the advantages and disadvantages of a range of management structures operated within organisations.
• Describe how downsizing, expanding, hiring and firing will impact an organisation.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the work carried out by key functions found within organisations.
• Explain legislative issues affecting information systems.
• Understand the range of activities carried out by financial and management accountants.
• Apply investment appraisal, costing and cash flow forecasting techniques.

All course materials, refreshments and lunches are included in the price of the course. Exams may be taken either at the end of the course or, if the candidate wishes time for additional study, at a later date.
