Throughout the course we use a case study to practice the business analysis techniques in a realistic situation – we use a fictional internet dating agency, Valentino's.  We also use an illustrative case study to explain some of the techniques - a vehicle hire company,

Yorkies. We enclose brief descriptions of each of these which we hope you will have time to read before the weekend.  If you are short of time just read Valentino's.

You have the book "Business Analysis" published by the British Computer Society - this is particularly useful for this course (and also for Requirements Engineering). Before the weekend we recommend that you read Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12, and 13.  I realise this

is rather a lot and you may not have much time  - if so then the Chapters to concentrate on are 3, 6, 7, and 12.  If you are really short of time then Chapter 7 covers material that is least familiar to most business analysts.
