Course Overview

Good presentation skills are a vital element of effective communication. Modern businesses and organisations increasingly recognise that the ability to present, inform or persuade is vital to the success and development of an organisation, both internally and externally.

In conjunction with the College of Public Speaking we offer an introductory course in presentation skills. Our one-day course is designed to ensure that clients maximise their learning opportunities. We achieve this by being flexible in responding to the specific needs of the clients attending each course.

Our training programmes are highly interactive and provide individuals with many opportunities to practise. Delegates will receive valuable constructive feedback in a supportive environment. This is interspersed with short presentations on concepts of public speaking and communication as the issues and needs arise.

Syllabus:

Ice-breaker exercise based on introducing another member of the group.
How to build confidence in giving presentations and diminish nerves.
Appreciate how to structure presentations so that the audience understands the messages that you wish to convey.
Using your voice to keep the audience focused on your presentation.
Building a rapport with the audience and winning them around to your way of thinking.

Many of these sessions are videoed and played back to the group for individual and group evaluation. This technique is one of the most powerful available and when deployed with frankness and sensitivity provides startling results. We can also include a session on the effective use of PowerPoint if required by our clients.
